At Beacon Prosthetics and Orthotics we encourage our patients and their caregivers to attend an amputee support group in our area. The goal of these groups is to provide a positive atmosphere for open conversation and expression. These groups usually address common questions and concerns that the attendees may have and allow a good forum for feedback. These groups also provide an excellent outlet for sharing personal experiences and triumphs.

There are two active Amputee Support Groups in the Raleigh/Durham area. The Triangle Amputee Support Group (TAS) has been an active amputee support group since 2003 and is a very active group. UnLIMBited (Raleigh Amputee Support Group) is a new support group formed by Heather Brewer LCSW and Shelia McNair.
